How do you feel about hugs? I like them myself. Link
I enjoy a good tea. I have always preferred a good Earl Grey or a nice black tea but with all of the press regarding the health benefits of green tea I have switched. It doesn't taste quite as good but as I am concerned for my health I drink a cup or two with my afternoon cigarettes. While I love my morning coffee there is something quite civilized and even a bit soothing about having a nice cup of tea in the afternoon. Do you enjoy tea? How do you take it?
While shaving today I started noticing the various scars on my face. Each one has some story behind it. I have a faint crease on the right side of my forehead that came from being hit with a beer bottle by a Soviet sailor in Naples, Italy. 10 stitches. We drank together again the following night. He was buying. A fairly deep scar on my right cheek. A knife scar from a guy who tried to rob me. Only 6 stitches. He's dead now. A very faint scar on the left side of my face, about 6 inche...
The guys on the shaving forum often use the term "weeper". Up until now I merely thought of them as nicks. Now I truly know what the term means. I have a scar on my right cheek, a souvenir from an attempted robbery. I am normally careful about shaving around that area. This time I was careless. As that Feather blade passed over the scar it sliced through it as if it were nothing. At first I didn't even feel it. My first indication was seeing the blood start to flow. That's when I felt i...
I took a quick ride to Publix to pick up some groceries. Nothing fancy, just some frozen pizza, beer, red beans and rice. You know, the essentials. While there I happened by the aisle containing scented candles. As I was looking for some air frshener I decided to check them out. I like the scented candles better than the often overpowering sprays or the hardly noticeable plug-in variety. I settled on a 2 wick job in a citrus scent. I have always been fond of the scent of oranges as it is p...
I have been giving this a great deal of thought today. I am a person who despises rudeness and yet I have been rude to a member of JU simply because I feel that he makes a fool of himself. Upon reflection I realize that it is his right to make a fool of himself if he so chooses, but it is not my right to be rude to him. Simply put, I was wrong and regret certain comments that I have made on his threads. I feel that people can disagree with each other, or choose to ignore each other, but on...
My mother was ill all weekend. Every since she had the chemo she's had problems keeping food down and her potassium levels drop for no reason. She now knows when her potassium is down, which is why she has been ill. She visited the doctor this morning and is being admitted into the hospital so that they can put her on an IV to get her potassium back up and feed her via IV to restore her system. When I spoke with her Saturday I suspected that thet would likely be admitting her today. Whi...
Today I purchased a new personal trimmer which is a fancy name for one of those gadgets one uses to trim the hair out of the nose and ears. The less hair I have on my head, the more I have in my ears. Who says God has no sense of humor? I installed a battery and tried out my new gadget. Socrates was quite fascinated with the new toy until I switched it on. The buzzing noise freaked him out and he couldn't put some distance bewteen the buzzing thing and himself quickly enough. He stayed a f...
After receiving numerous calls from local citizens about Sheriff's Deputies hanging out in a church parking lot for hours at a time instead of working a news station decided to check it. Over the course of a couple of weeks they staked out the church parking lot with their news cameras. Sure enough, they taped several deputies. sometimes as many as 6 or 7, hanging out in this parking lot shooting the breeze and generally goofing off. One corporal in particular was shown to sit in that par...
The past few times I have been home I have been fighting a losing battle with my bicycle chain. I've put a lot of miles on that chain and it was basically time to replace it. When I came home Friday I found that the chain was longer useable at all. Ok, time for a new one. Saturday morning I bummed a ride to the bike shop to buy some new chain. I decided that since I was replaing the chain anyway I may as well upgrade to a better one. Now, a recumbent needs a lot of chain due to the drivetr...
I don't know what it is about my current desktop, but it seems to get a lot of comments from people who see it.
I think most people have at some point in their lives been in a situation where they just simply looked ridiculous. I know I have. When I was in college I shared an apartment with some friends. It was pretty much party central in town. We didn't even have a key to the place, We kept a paint scraper on the window sill beside the door and used that to slip the lock. Naturally all of our friends knew it was there and what it was for. Basically the place was a zoo. Sometimes literally. We h...
Dear fellow Countrymen & Countrywomen As you may already know, it is a sin for a Muslim male to see any woman other than his wife naked, and that he must commit suicide if he does. So next Saturday at 4 pm Eastern time all American women are asked to walk out of their house completely naked to help weed out any neighborhood terrorists. Circling your block for one hour is recommended for this anti-terrorist effort. All men are to position themselves in lawn chairs in front of thei...
