The flat tires thing does suck. My husband is always running over a stray nail, screw , or wire in the road. Thankfully he has not done so when we have put new tires on the car.

My husband worked for the state department of roads so I am familiar with the size of those mobile factories. He usually had to work with asphalt ones though.

I can`t relate to your insurance company issue at all. I live in Canada. If I`m sick, I go to see a doctor. That`s it. I do pay an obscene amount of income tax for this service though. My income tax rate is around 36%. Not too mention the old age pention and employment insurance deductions that also come off my paycheck. All in all though, I`d rather have the full health care I have here then the US market system.

I've had two Basil Cell cancers taken off my nose. They have a localized out-patient procedure that they can do where they take it off, test the surrounding edges to make sure it is all out...then patch you up. The first one only took one cut. The second one was bigger and they not only had to call me back in twice (they cut and sit you in the waiting room while they test...if more cutting is required they call you back in) but they had to cut a plug of skin from behind my ear to put a graft on my nose. The one behind my ear hurt more than the one on my nose. The two were a year apart and it has been 7 years since the second one...no returns yet. The good news is that if ya gotta have cancer, basil cell is the least dangerous one to have. Get'er fixed and get back out there.

It looks like a basal cell to me but the only way to be sure is to biopsy it. It definitely doesn’t look like a melanoma though.

If they scrape it out it cost around $300 and has a 5% chance of coming back. If they cut the skin out it has only a 1% chance of coming back but that’s going to cost around a thousand.

Also scraping a larger area like that is going to take 2 to3 months to heal compared to a week with cutting it out.

If it’s gotten that large since last summer it’s not something you want to wait too long to take care of.

My heart goes out to the flood victims too because I know exactly what they're going through. I lived in St Louis during the floods of 93, and I'll tell ya, their work has just begun. The real devastation is what's left behind once those floodwaters recede.

I remember watching coffins float down the street...and large PROPANE tanks that had busted loose from their moorings. The stench and black mold that covered every dampened surface was also terrible, as were the risks of typhus and dysentary.

I'd urge anyone who can afford to do so send a donation to the Red Cross. Those folks are gonna need all the help they can get.

It would be nice to have a hobby like knitting, too bad I'm not interested in it and I am not good at art stuff anyways. I figured I could probably combine my love for PCs with some kind of art (since I use to like drawing houses as a child) but the only thing I could do was drafting and I don't even do that anymore. Every time I read one of your articles where you talk about knitting, it makes me wanna try to at least learn how to use Adobe Photoshop, the closest thing to arts and craft while stile using a PC.

Hope you post pics of the booties and beanies. And maybe even pics of the baby wearing them.

Just curious on something else. What kind of speed are you getting with your wireless? On the trip to florida, I was getting better than dialup, but not by much. It was almost like watching paint dry sometimes. They did not win a convert with performance like that.

Gosh, what a crappy way to treat poor Scooby! I can't blame him for being angry! Nice of you to think about him M! Hope the 'blitz' was good for you! On Memorial day we had taken a run to my BIL's in Gainesville and there were quite a few trucks on the road, some having to go into the weigh station as well from what I saw. You truckers do quite a good job hauling and getting those supplies we all need, thx!
