A bunch of useless crap

Today I purchased a new personal trimmer which is a fancy name for one of those gadgets one uses to trim the hair out of the nose and ears. The less hair I have on my head, the more I have in my ears. Who says God has no sense of humor?

I installed a battery and tried out my new gadget. Socrates was quite fascinated with the new toy until I switched it on. The buzzing noise freaked him out and he couldn't put some distance bewteen the buzzing thing and himself quickly enough. He stayed a few feet away and watched as I made use of the thing.

When I finally switched it off he hopped back up on the couch to get a closer look. I held it out to him so that he could get a better look and he swatted at it. I then switched it back on and he immediately swatted it out of my hand. I picked it up and held it out to him, still buzzing. He wanted nothing to do with this buzzing thing and you would have thought I held out a rattlesnake the way he arched his back and moved away from the thing.

I tried to show him that it wasn't going to hurt him but he acted as if I was trying to poke him with a sharp stick. It was actually quite funny.

I don't think Socrates will be having a trim anytime soon.

Sally does not buzzing things. I guess because she has been around them all her life.  The other cats are deathly afraid of them, but Sally likes to play with them!  Cats!

Grr...you and your misleading titles. Here I come expecting some sort of harrowing tale about a cat's lost chance at love.
