This is something I have noticed on the internet, especially on blogs or in forums all over the internet. Someone will post a multiple paragraph diatribe that could just have easily been expressed in one or two sentences. Why? Do these people actually think that they appear more intelligent if they type out a few hundred words? Maybe it's just a way to create a word smoke screen to hide the fact that their ideas are actually pretty simplistic or poorly thought out? More words does not equa...
But what about beer and then wine? My beer ran out but as I wasn't yet ready for bed I decided to pull the cork on a bottle of White Zinfandel that I've been saving for a while. It tastes quite good, if a tad too sweet for my tastes. beer and then wine..........?
I'm kicking back, sucking down a few brews, and basically just being comfortable. My bathroom door has a full length mirror mounted on it. Not on the inside of the bathroom, but the outside, in the bedroom. I can see it from the kitchen. I walked the 5 or 6 steps to the kitchen (I live in a travel trailer) to get another brew and caught sight of myself in said mirror. What a picture of manliness. Gray sleeveless tee shirt, white boxer shorts, and argyle socks (hey, my feet are cold, ok?).

I'd heard a number of emergency vehicle sirens late last night. From their sounds I could distinguish fire, police, and ambulance sirens. I assumed it must be yet another car wreck somewhere in the area. Happens a lot. Must have been a bad one for that much activity. I learned today that it was a wreck of sorts, just not the usual car crash sort of thing. Some bone head truck driver managed to get his rig hit by a train a few blocks from here. Huh? I know that crossing. It's well mar...
I really hate sinus headaches. They royally suck moose teat. My sinuses have been bothering me since I woke up this morning. Damn cold front. Every time I have to bend over, even a little, it feels like my head is gonna explode. This shit sucks. The whole sinus thing is a very poor design.
One of the things I like about living here is that I can see the space launches from my house. I just walked outside and watched the NASA launch of the rocket carrying satellites into space to study the solar storms that cause the Northern Lights. I watched as the rocket streaked upwards out of sight, leaving a long smoke trail behind it. I remember standing outside and watching the launch of the shuttle Challenger back in 1986. Having seen many launches, I knew right away that something h...
I guess Chad Vader isn't quite as successful as his big brother.

Yay! JU is back up and running again. Mom called me a little while ago and asked me to come down. She had been digging through some boxes and found a bunch of old knitting needles that had belonged to her best friend (my first babysitter) who passed away a couple of years ago and she wanted me to have them. There are a bunch of metal needles in a good assortment of sizes, many of which I didn't yet have. I now have more knitting needles than I know what to do with. I guess after seeing...
I'm sitting here about half watching the idiot box, surfing the net, drinking beer, and smoking. It's almost 1:30 in the morning. I should be in bed sleeping. I just don't really feel like going to bed though. I normally like to keep a regular sleep cycle as it really is the healthiest way to go, but for some reason I just don't feel ready to go to bed. It's not like I have any sort of schedule for tomorrow, but part of me says I should be in bed sleeping, while another part of me (the ba...
I can't help it, the show South Park just makes me roll with laughter every time I see it. As really dumb as it is, the writers are about as irreverent as they come and they don't seem to shy away from any topic. It's hilarious. In the episode playing now they've covered everything from the ATF and a Ruby Ridge/Waco type of situation to homophobia. Naturally they totally trashed everyone and everything. That's what I like about them. They don't discriminate. They trash everyone equally.
It's getting quite cold here tonight. Well, quite cold for Florida at any rate. My little space heater has been running a lot the last couple of hours and I've had to bump up it's thermostat a couple of times. Right now it's about 37 outside and is forecast to drop into the 20s. That's very cold for this area. Most of us don't even have actual furnaces in our homes. I have a single 1500 watt space heater and an electric blanket. They're enough to keep my little place from getting too cold ...
Today I finished the top of the second sock, turned the heel, and just finished picking up the gusset. It's going much faster using a single circular needle and the Magic Loop method than the first one did using four double point needles. Since the pattern I am following was written for doing it on four double points I'm having to figure some things out as I go in order to adapt it to magic loop. Picking up the gusset and getting everything divided correctly again was the tricky part, but ...
