I'm hanging out in a motel in Amarillo. There's a bar next door, The Buckles Western Bar, and I was in there enjoying a few adult beverages. My first stop today was at the Central Prison in Raleigh, NC. I was elivering a machinery cooling unit there. They are builiding onto the prison there. It's been an interesting week or so since I've last posted. I picked up an oversized load in Or, delivered it in MO, hung out for a couple of days there, and then took a load up to WI where I now sit after being rained on most of the day today. It's been a long and interestng few days. I  met a guy in Montana who was from South Africa. He had some prettty strict ideas about race which we talked abiut and I just couldn't bring myself to agree with, but otherwise he was a nice guy. We had an interesting conversation. I met a gut the next night who was the only black guy living in Hardin, MT. He was a very bright 22 year old fellow and I really enjoyed talking wiht him. I'm staying in a reasonably decent motel, a Days Inn. It looks clean and reasonably well maintained. Not a five star place of course, but not a flea bag joint either. I finally put off my last two deliveries this morning. One was generator in Titusville where I had an 8:00am crane appointment. It was going to a medical center. I got there at 7:30. I have some time to kill out here on the road and as the ac unit on my APU isn't working so my boss has paid for a room and the associated expenses. I haven't stepped on a scale and so have no idea how much weight I've lost, but I know I have because my clothes don't fit any more. I finally made it back to the yard today. I delivered my load in Green Bay yesterday, picked up a truck in Oshkosh, ran it to the yard, and then spent the night there. This was yesterday. This morning I put  my truck in the shop for rooutine service, and used another truck to make ppick ups at three locations for a load I was told I would be hauling to TN. After killing time all weekend I will finally be hitting the road again later today.
