A bunch of useless crap

It was pretty mild here in WI yesterday. The temps were in the 60s and it was pleasant. As the day progressed the winds began to pick up and by dusk it was quite windy. It was obvious a front was moving in.

Before going to bed I checked the weather forecast. It was supposed to be reasonably warm this morning and the temps drop as the day progressed; cold front. Ok, no problem, just be prepared to put on warmer clothing later in the day. As it was pretty comfortable I went to sleep with just the fan blowing.

At some point in the wee hours I awoke and found myself quite cold and Socrates was buried right up against me trying to keep warm. WTF? I checked to see if I had mistakenly turned on the ac instead of the fan. Nope, just the fan running. I grabbed my heavy blanket and turned on the heat, set to low, and went back to sleep. I guess the cold front got here quicker than expected.

I hate this time of year. The weather changes faster than John Kerry's mind. Luckily, I am to pick up a fire rescue truck this morning and haul it down to GA where it should be nice and warm. It's an oversized load, which I usually like because they pay so well, but they're not quite as nice this time of year when it gets dark so much earlier. As I can't run with it after dark I'm going to have to make the best of what daylight I have on the way down. At least I know I'll be getting my sleep.

I got up early this morning so that I would have time to enjoy some coffee and a shave before getting started on the day. But at the moment I am just enjoying my coffee as now that I am up I do not feel like shaving yet. I'll wait until I am more fully awake. As I am sure I'll get a little dirty securing the fire truck I'll probably just wait and shave when I shower after the work is finished. I should have a couple of hours to kill waiting for the oversize permits anyway.

I just hope the weather cooperates on the way down to GA, but this time of year you just never know for sure.

The cold front is supposed to blow in tomorrow here.  I dont know if it will make it down to Georgia, but we are expecting our first freeze tomorrow night.  Good luck with the trip.

The weather changes faster than John Kerry's mind.

Yesterday afternoon I sat out in the sunshine,  a pleasant 66 degrees and I knew from the forecast that today I too would be shivering!  I had to turn the heat on this morning and grab a sweatshirt until the apt. warms up.

Hope your trip goes good for ya!

Thanks. Yeah, I was enjoying the more comfortable weather yesterday too. I hate to see it end so abruptly.

It was in the 40's and 50's here for a few days...hell, it was even spitting some snow last week...yesterday it was 62 or so...and I think it's around 65 today, except now it's raining....bleh. This weather is a pain.

Hmmmm should I say how lovely it is here in Florida? M, I bet you miss home uh?! It is getting cooler here thou, but not as cool as where you guys are. It also gets dark at 6pm now. I don't like it, but I'm dealing! That means Trick or Treating in the dark tonight.

Stay warm M and make sure to keep Socrates warm too. You could put him around your neck, that way you will both be warm!! Drive safely.

So THAT was that funky flava. I was wondering about the smell, too . . . I don't thing eau de cat piss is destined to be Estee Lauder's next big hit.

It's in the 80's here.

Fall is my favorite time of year, but we hardly have it in this place. It's fall for about ten minutes one afternoon. Don't blink or you'll miss it. Otherwise it's an almost straight ride from Summer into Winter, usually just after Halloween.

Looks like it's time to dig out the heavy jacket.

Yeah, this time of year the weather either sucks or is about to suck.

Yeah, I am looking forward to getting back down there. I am likely going to just stay out here on the road until Thanksgiving. The holiday season really cuts into my work so I'll just plan to do my home time over the holidays and get as much running time in between as possible.

Now that it's getting cooler Socrates likes to sleep right up close and personal
