A bunch of useless crap

There are some female vocalists who really stand out for you. For me it's Stevie Nicks, Chrissie Hynde, and Pat Benetar. Their voices just reach out and grab you. Who "does it" for you"?

I guess I'll keep my "Power Siren" article off my blog for a bit longer. It's not quite ready anyway. ;~D

Stevie Nicks and Pat Benatar have always been among my favorites. New comer Amee lee (Evanescence), Melissa Etheridge, Martina McBride, Stephanie Lin (Trans Siberian Orchestra) and of course, the Queen of Soul (and Power Sirens) herself, Aretha Franklin. All different, but they each make their mark whenever they belt it out!

Well there are several that I find exceptional.

Kate Bush , Krysty Thrisk ( she does vocals on several Delerium tracks ) , Leigh Nash of Sixpence None The Richer , Sarah Mclachlan , Sarah Brightman, the singers from the Medieval Babes, and some I'm probably forgetting.

Oh yeah, I forgot Jewel. Her voice makes me melt.

Aretha Franklin comes to mind right away...so does Etta James. Even though she is overexposed and a pop tart now, Mariah Carey still has a wonderful voice (she just needs to realize that she doesn't need to be half naked to prove herself...her voice
is enough). Whitney Houston also has an amazing voice...too bad she got caught in the temptations of fame...she has ruined her reputation.

Other great female voices I can think of that haven't been mentioned yet: Patsy Cline, Billie Holiday, Diana Ross, Wynonna Judd.

I will go with Stevie Nicks (my favorite), Benatar, Quatro, Amee Lee, Enya, McKinnit, Flack.

My sinful pick (as in I should hate her style and voice, but I secretly love it) is Missy Elliot.

I have to go with several others on Stevie Nicks. There is just something about her voice. I get shivers everytime I here landslide.

But, if you are talking quality style with an angelic tone that is such a throw back to days long gone, you have to mention Norah Jones. She's no so bad to look at either.
