A bunch of useless crap

Eating a strictly vegan diet is starting to pay off with regard to my IBS. My digestive system is starting to normalize for the first time in many years. A few more weeks and it may well be normal, or as normal as it can get with this condition. Perhaps the pain, bloating and frequent urgency will soon become things of the past.

I am also eating a good bit better since I have to actually give some thought and planning to what I am going to be eating instead of reaching for the quick and easy prepared stuff which always contains animal products in some form or another.

It's also nice to know I'm not helping to contribute to animal cruelty.

Pretty much a win/win situation all around. My gut hasn't felt this good for as long as I can remember.

I'm glad this is working for you. To me a vegan diet would be very hard. I think I could become a vegetarian, but I don't know if I could give up the dairy.

I'm happy this new eating lifestyle is paying off. It is so true that you are what you eat.

That's excellent news, Mason! I've had bouts of IBS for about 10 years now, and I know how awful they can be. It got so bad that I wouldn't go to a place where I didn't know where the bathroom was. I would't go on road trips, I wouldn't go fishing for the day.....it was a pain in the ass.

I was on bentyl for a while, but it made me feel stupid so I tried not to take it. I haven't had an episode for about a year now, and I am incredibly grateful for that. I don't know why it's gone away, but I think in part it's due to my cutting down on the amount of dairy I consume (it's very little in comparison to everyone else in the house), and eating less and less fatty foods. All I know is that I'm glad it's gone and I hope it never comes back!

Anyway, congrats on finding a diet that works for you.
