I found some great products
Ok, I admit it. I hate to shave. It's painful.
Shaving causes my neck to break out in a painful rash. It always has. After my car wreck I was told to use an electric razor for a while because I was on heavy doses of anti-coagulants to prevent blot clots resulting from the surgery on my hip/pelvis. The electric was ok, didn't rash my neck much, but also just didn't give nearly as as close a shave either.
The other day I decided to go back to a blade. I was looking around for some good products to reduce the pain involved. I bought a Gillette 4 blade razor, Aveeno shave cream, and L'Oreal men's after shave balm.
Bingo! What a great combination. While I am pretty sure the Aveeno shave cream is really for women's legs, it is the best shave cream I have ever used. On the can it says it helps reduce razor burn and bumps and helps you shave less often. It works, too. I get an incredibly smooth shave with almost no irritation at all.
In the past, even with a blade, I would start getting stubble by noon. This shave cream does seem to slow regrowth as now I get a little stubble 24 hours after shaving. And my neck has no rash at all.
The L'Oreal after shave balm is a very soothing after shave cream with only a little scent. It really soothes the skin and helps with a smooth feel after shaving.
So, any guys out there suffering through shaving irritation, give this stuff a try, it really does work and worth the little extra price.
