A bunch of useless crap
Broke and tired

I have only been with my present company since Jan. but have already decided to secure a position elsewhere. In a job that should pay over $1000 a week my gross last week was only $375, and after deductions my take home was $0. And I even worked over the weekend for some extra money. What a laugh!
I spend far too much time sitting around with these people than actually driving. Last Monday I was unloaded at 7:15 am in Alabama. It was 2:30pm before they finally sent me another dispatch, and that was about 1100 miles, and had three days on it. What a joke! That's a two day drive. No wonder I'm not making any money here.
I had set my availablility for noon on Sunday, and here it is Monday morning and I am still waiting for a dispatch. I like having some home time, but this is absurd.
A driver in a truckstop on Friday was telling me about the small outfit she drives for. They do flatbed, lowboys, and dropdecks hauling equipment and such. I decided then that perhaps it's time for me to get out of pulling vans and into specialized flatbeds and such.
She gave me the number of her boss, and I called when I got home Friday. Instead of a recruiter I spoke directly with the owner of the company. He is a very plain-spoken, direct person who gets right to the point. I like that. He told me what I needed to know anout the job, and I told him what he needed to know about me.
We hit it off pretty well over the phone. He took my drivers license info and said he'd run my driving record (which is excellent) and if it checked out I had a job.
I should hear from him tomorrow and I will turn in my truck at the terminal at the end of the week. I need a change, and more importantly, I need to make a decent living. I have never made less than $1000 a week since I started driving and need to get back to that income level fast. Two months off recovering from the wreck in Nov. and now the low pay since I started with this company in Jan. have killed me financially.
Have to make a change quick if I'm going to recover before the end of the year.
