A bunch of useless crap

I rode my bike to the store tonight to pick up some food for the following week. I made a stop at the local watering hole on the way back.

In the meantime, the highway department, which had been doing some road work on my route for a whie decided to dig up a larger section of road than what they done this summer. On my way home I ran across this new section of digging, which was a good ten feet before I was used to running into their earlier work. I hit this new section of dirt and gravel that was pavement earlier today and lost it.

My backpack was loaded down with canned foods and such which took a lot of weight off of my front wheel so when I hit this new section of roughness I lost all constrol of my bke.

I am now nursing a road rash on my right knee and left elbw as well as keeping an ice pack on a badly swelling right ankle which I am really hoping isn't broken. I can't walk on it at all right now, but hopefully that'll pass.

While it would be natural to blame drinking for my current situation, I think grocery shopping is the real culprit here.

Be careful!!!!
Last time I went flying off a bike I wound up with a broken shoulder. You got off easy with road burn. Thank God it wasn't worse.

Mason I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks folks. Luckily, it doesn't look like the ankle is broken, just badly sprained.

an interesting modern, urban development is the ordered delivery of groceries.

this way you maximize your opportunity to sip cool beechwood-aged beverages from cozies that read "welcome to moronville, population YOU" while watching the olsen twins on television. this is america, baby!

How is your Bike?  Sorry for the ankle!  Sprains can be a real b-word!  I had one!  I know!

Hope all is well soon!  Take care of that ankle!  Mine never did get right.

I'm hanging in there. Using my crutches to allow it time to heal but still get around. I think it almost woulda been better to break it than a nasty sprain.

The bike is fine as far as I can tell, just a busted tail light. Once I am healed up enough I'll inspect it more closely for damages.

That's what my doctor told me!

Gosh M, I hope you're recuperating alright. Glad it wasn't worse than what it is though!

Thanks. It's coming along I guess. The foot is all black and blue but I think it's slowly healing up.

I'm going to try to ride a little on Sunday to see if the ankle will take it. If so I'll try to ride to work on Monday.

I've felt tired and out of sorts all week because I haven't been able to ride.
