A bunch of useless crap
Flu season arrives once again
Published on October 22, 2005 By MasonM In Blogging
I've had the flu, or some flu-like bug all week. With everything going on at work I just couldn't afford to take time off even though I was feeling terrible all week. Yesterday I simply ran out of steam. I worked half a day and came home to rest and imbibe in Nyquil.

Amazing how a bug so small ya need a microscope to see it can totally kick your butt.

I did everything I could to reduce the odds of spreading this bug to my fellow workers. I sprayed the telephone with disinfectant after each use, treated my hands with sanitizer repeatedly throughout the day, and refused to shake anyone's hand. I also kept my distance from everyone. That, combined with judicious use of a handkerchief, hopefully will have prevented my infecting others with this nasty little bug.

I'm going to spend the weekend resting in hopes that it will have run it's course by the start of the work week.

Got a bug myself, altho it did not take me down.  But I took half a day off friday so I would not infect the 2 new fathers!

Good thinking Guy, would be especially nasty for a baby. Sorry to hear you've "got the bug" too.

keep yourself well mason, My immune system is so compromised I have to wear a mask when I go out in public.

Sorry to hear that MM, but better safe than sorry.

I've been told I should wear a mask in public, but it has nothing to do with germs.

Hope you're feeling better by Monday. With the way you were feeling I bet your bike ride home Friday wasn't very much fun. At least you had the right bike for it, most bikes would be "two-tired"

I feel you, Mason .. I'm glad Halloween is near, it's the only day I can go outside WITHOUT a mask.

Speaking of Halloween, the title of your article got me thinking of Halloween last year. I got my butt kicked last year, but again maybe I shouldn't had dressed up as a pinata.

Get Well Soon!!

Yeah riding was a bit rough, but the bent is still the most comfy way to go.

That's not fair! getting sick NOW! rats.

Here's wishing you lots of rest, comforting chicken soup and
and a fast recovery!

Thanks Trudy. I was hoping to party a bit this weekend to celebrate my birthday, but such is life. The way this bug has me feeling, rest is more important than partying right now.

There's always next year.

And some hot chicken soup sounds real good about now. You cook? I could use a good nurse who can cook.

I can cook, and I make a kick ass from-scratch chicken soup. Shame you live in Florida, or else I'd bring you some.

Rest and force fluids, Mason. Even if you're not thirsty, drink water. Personally, unless my fever was over 103, I'd let it burn. That's your body's way of killing off the virus. If you're not comfortable doing that, you can take tylenol - but you already knew that, and now I'm rambling.

Happy birthday, and I'm sorry you feel poopy. If it's any consolation, I felt poopy on my birthday this year too and spent half the day in bed.
