A bunch of useless crap

Today was one of those days when you double check to see if it's a full moon. All sorts of odd things were happening at work.

One of the warehouse workers tried to steal a dozen steaks by stuffing them in his pants. He was busted when one of the steaks fell out of his pants leg as he was trying to get past the guard shack. This genius lost a $16.50/hour job and went to jail over some meat. He isn't likely to find anything in this town that comes even close in pay. What an ass!

That's just one example of the odd stuff that happened today. It seemed like it was non-stop stupid stuff all day. People driving the wrong way on a one way drive (hey! do you understand the concept of "one way"????), drivers coming in with really bad attitudes only to find out I don't put up with bad attitudes (change your attitude unless you'd like to sit here all night waiting to be unloaded), not one but two trucks breaking down in the driveway, etc...

Strange day. All day.

On a good note, the rains held off long enough for me to ride the bike to work, and stopped in time for me to ride home again with a quick stop for a couple of brews along the way.

The road rash on my left knee from the wreck last Saturday is scabbed over and healing nicely, if a still a bit sore. I'm pretty sure I got all of the asphalt and gravel cleaned out of it.

I hope tomorrow is a bit more sane.

OK, maybe it was just me

Today was much better. Nothing odd, other than training a new officer. He told me that Todd, who is the person who does the hiring, said that I was "the best officer" he has there and "would train you the right way". Flattering I suppose, but I just do my job. Nothing special.

Went out and shot some pool with a few of the drivers from the company tonight which was fun. They were trying to talk me into coming to work there as a driver, which would pay better, but there is no way I could get a DOT medical card now. My bum hip would keep me from passing the physical, and my doctor said he wouldn't release me to drive trucks again. Ah well, security isn't all that bad even if it doesn't pay that great.

Hey M, didn't know you had a recent spill but I'm glad you're ok. Perhaps it was a "blue moon" day plus the weather with T.S.Ophelia in the background that made people so nutty! At least you were able to relax and enjoy your brew!

The only possible way i could get approved to drive trucks again would be to have a new hip put in, which is financially out of the question.

Could be the TS, they do seem to make people a little squirrely at times.
