A bunch of useless crap

Monday is always the busiest day of my work week, but today was especially busy. The grocery distribution center where I work security is having to receive and ship a lot of extra food items due to Katrina and the place was really jumping today. It's good in a way because the shift goes by quickly, but it's very tiring.

I was exhausted by the time my shift ended but that all went away once I got on my bike and started pedaling toward home. There is something energizing about riding, especially at night. The air is cooler, there is less traffic, and things are generally quieter. I can ride along listening to the music of the tires on the pavement and just enjoy the ride.

So regardless of how tiring the work day was, the ride home makes it all worthwhile.

Really sounds like things are falling into place. That's GREAT!
You are living proof that the expression "Never say never" is true. You are truly an inspiration Mason... keep it up!

It helps living in Florida where snow is a 4 letter word that is rarely heard!  When I use to ride my bike to and from work, I refused to do so when the termperature got below 0.  That happened about 3 times in the 2 years I was riding the bike.  I dont guess you have to worry about that though.

Thanks Mano, I just do what I have to do.

Yeah Doc, that is one of the advantages of living in the sub-tropics. It's riding weather pretty much year round. Hurricanes are more of an annual riding spoiler than cold weather. It's always something.

That and the summer afternoons of torrential type rain! It never lasts for that long though which is great!

Yeah, the "afternoon coolers" are usually short-lived and are pretty predictable for the most part. Besides, sometimes that rain can feel pretty good on a hot afternoon.
