A bunch of useless crap

Today I finished with the basic course and orientation. I aced the basic training course exam easily (I was the only one who did). I made it to the state office and submitted my application for my security license and received my temporary license which permits me to begin working immediately. I'm now all nice and legal.

I was issued my uniforms and assorted gear and will begin my first shift on Monday, so now I have a few days to relax and get the uniform altered to fit properly before starting. Good thing mom can sew lol.

Unfortunately I've been assigned to a brand new start-up account which is farther away from my house than I wanted. I won't be able to ride my bike to work which is going to present some transportation issues to be worked through.

The place is brand new, a packing plant, and there isn't even a guard shack yet so a lot of improvising will be going on for a while. I understand the place is a real mud hole right now too, and me without suitable black boots to wear. I think my poor black dress shoes will likely be ruined pretty quickly. Probably a few pairs of socks too. Having muddy, wet feet all shift is going to be miserable, I'm sure.

But at least I now have a job, which is what I wanted.

Thanks MM. Staying dry will be a definate problem until the guard shack is built. Ah well, I'll cope.

In a way it's good... starting out at a new place... you get to set the guidlines and procedures. The mud will dry up soon.. keep thinking positive!

Congrats Mason. I'm so glad that things are looking up (even if they are a little bit muddy!)

Congrats on aceing the exam Mason. It's a start at least, muddy feet and all! Just bring a change of footwear and socks for the trip home!
