A bunch of useless crap
I finally received a call back on one of the several job applications I have submitted of late. While it isn't the position I was really hoping for, it will be better than nothing. On Monday I will begin the training required by the state to receive a class D security license for my new position as a security officer.

They need someone with computer skills for the particular post and it seems most of their officers are sorely lacking in that skills area. I'll be in class for 12 hours each day Monday and Tuesday and then an additional 24 hours of classes at the college to complete the state license requirements.

Not exactly a great job, but after more than 5 months of being laid up from my injuries, even that job sounds pretty good.

Mason, this is awesome news!

Will you have to buy your own equipment?  If that's the case, I highly recommend Bianchi products.  I used them exclusively...their stuff is durable and looks good too, especially the nylon stuff.

Congratulations, and good luck for Monday!

Good for you!!!

I think after a while not being productive you just start feeling lousy about yourself. At least you'll be busy, and you may find that you even like it once you really get into it. If not, you can always try something new...

Congratulations again!

dharma: No, they provide everything but shoes, which I have. Good thing too since I haven't seen a paycheck since December. I just have to pay for the state license, which is $35. I'll come up with that somehow.

Thanks Marcie. Right now any job is better than none. Even lousy pay beats no pay .

Since my physical disability still limits what I can do, I'll take what I can get.
