A bunch of useless crap
Published on May 25, 2005 By MasonM In Blogging
Lately it seems that JU is overrun with childish, petulent, petty little children. Article after article, hardly worthy of the name 'article" are flooding the site with ridiculous name calling, squabbles, and absurd attempts to mock other JU members complete with the comments of the sycophants from various corners.

The whole thing would be amusing if it didn't drag the community as a whole down into the mud. The truly sad and disgusting thing is that all of the sophomoric behavior is conducted by so-called adults. I am personally sick to death of all this inane hateful behavior and will not be reading or posting on the blogs of anyone engaging in this sort of childishly spiteful behavior. No big loss to me or to them really.

My activities on JU will be minimal at best unless and until admistration decides to curtail the immature behavior of the miscreants here. While I realize this is hardly a loss to anyone here, that isn't the point. I am just no longer willing to be associated with such a bunch of pathetically petty and childish people.

MM, I deleted your comments by accident. sorry.

Sounds like I've been missing a lot. I know this community can get a little out of hand at times when some should respect others, but I admit I WANT FILLED IN!!
on May 25, 2005
You won't get "filled in" from me Alison. None of the BS directly involves me. I'm just sick of seeing it.

tis ok mason... i am sure it wasn't real important anyways. but hey if your going to leave, please stay in touch, ok?

Unfortunately none of the bloggers in question have violated the terms of use for this site (to the best of my knowledge), but I understand your frustration. Whether people are writing an insightful article on some social issue or just blogging about their day I'm happy to read. If it's mudslinging I get tired of it. Some people love it though, and if they don't do anything to get themselves banned, what can we do? Just ignore them I suppose, but many do not. I respect your decision. :/

I agree Mason

Kaaaaaay, i think i missed something too. But it must have been yet another virtual fist fight on JU...

If you want to take some time off JU, do it MasonM... Sometimes you have to get away from it for a while to remember how much you actually enjoy this

Hope you come back all fresh and eager to post again.

Cheers and have a good 'holiday' in the real world

Mason,

Pulling back means the clowns rule.  Dont.  Stay and fight.  I intend to.

It was island Gurl! But only your charms can bring him back!

So let the positives vibes flow!

(Dont worry, we will make sure Mason does not leave. He is too valuable!)

Ok, I didn't say I was leaving. I said "My activities on JU will be minimal at best". I'll stick to my own blog, at least for a while and refrain from reading/commenting on others as I don't want to read all the petty crap. And I WILL delete comments and/or blacklist anyone carrying their bickering or nasty comments onto my blog.
Maybe I'm just feeling especially short tempered right now because I'm trying to quit smoking, but I've been sick of the petty crap for a while now.

Hmmm, somebody contacted me and said that a person was making claims that I edited my article in order to change it's tone or some such nonsense. Anyone who read the article when I first posted can easily read it again now and see this is simply not true. The article remains exactly as written.

I did delete several people's comments that were posted that I felt were of exactly the type of arguement I was addressing in the article. I also blacklisted a couple of people, one of whom I suspect made the false claims although I did not and will not bother myself to look for nor address them as it's not worth getting involved in a petty bickering match.

For the record: this article remains exactly as originally written. I know ModerateMan and foreverserenity both commented right after it was posted. I am sure they can easily verify it has not been changed.

I still contend that the sort of sophomoric antics such as someone making such silly remarks is beneath contempt and drags the entire community through the mud. This is the entire extent to which I will devote any attention to such childish remarks.

I've been where you are at many times Mason. Take a break, and then come back. I hate to say this, but unfortunately this kind of crap happens every couple of months or so. I used to go off about it in the same way. But nobody listens. I have found that if you just ignore the moronic and juvenile threads, you can still get you point of view across.

Take the high road man. You're a good blogger with interesting viewpoints. Don't get caught up in the bullshit.
