A bunch of useless crap

A friend of my mother works as a security guard at a factory here in town. She called and said the company really needed to hire someone as they were short handed at that site. Since she knew I was beating the bushes for some kind of work that I can do, she thought I might be interested.

It surely isn't a great job, and the pay is pretty low, but considering my physical limitations and the shortage of decent openings in the area it's worth a shot. Better than nothing.

She also said that with my education and computer background it could lead to a better position in their company down the road. A foot in the door so to speak. The job basically requires working 3rd shift (midnight to 8) sitting in the guard shack checking people in and out of the gate and making rounds of the place twice a night. She said I could easily make the rounds on my bike as walking that far would be out of the question. She uses her car.

With any luck they'll hire me in spite of my physical handicap. If not, well it's worth a shot. She's taking me over there Thursday to apply.

OK, it isn't exactly a great job opportunity, but right now I'll take what I can get. Any job is better than no job right now.

True, they do. And thanks. It's just difficult, at this stage in my life to be forced to start over from scratch.

Good luck! Dont forget the no-doze.

Thanks. Yeah, the no-doze or huge anounts of coffee may be needed at least until my body adjusts. Assuming of course I even get the job. Nothing in guaranteed is this world.

Thanks folks.
I'm not going to get too optomistic about it. Realistically, they could just say "No we can't use someone with a busted hip right now."
If I do get hired, then I'll get happy.
