A bunch of useless crap

I did my morning walk. Starting today I am going to do the walk twice a day instead of one. I am hoping it will aid in speeding the healing process.
Despite waking in the middle of the night in extreme pain possibly as a result of moving wrong in my sleep the hip feels pretty decent today. The pain is somewhat tolerable. The first 3/4 of a block of the walk I used the cane very lightly, only really leaning on it a couple of time when my balance became a little off. Amazing how much the hip joint is used in maintaining your balance when walking.

I did eventually have to start leaning more on the cane as I went and slowed my pace a good bit. But it's some improvement anyway. I doubt I'll ever be able to completely lose the cane, but the less I have to lean on it, the better.

I'll do the walk again this afternoon or early evening.

I called about a job ad when I got back from my walk. A fireworks company looking for people to work their stands. Unfortunately it requires a good deal of lifting and carrying boxes of fireworks and setting up the tent each day so that's out. Oh well, it was worth looking in to anyway.

I'm so glad you are doing better today Mason... and the attitude seems more positive as well. Keep it up!
Looking forward to this afternoons' progress report!

BTW... is not a walk/hobble called a wobble?
on May 11, 2005
Thanks Mano, and yes wobble would be an apt description for what passes for walking in my current state.

I'm in a wheelchair Mason... so consider yourself very fortunate.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take what I can get and consider myself lucky to have even survived the wreck at all. When they have to cut you out of a convertable, that's not good.

Believe me, as much as I may bemoan my current situation, I am acutely aware that others are much worse off. My younger brother is also in a chair with wheels.

As long as you maintain a positive attitude, which I think you are, you will overcome all difficulties.

Ya have to look at it this way Mason.....it could "always" be worse. It's what keeps me going MS and all. Every time I think about just giving up I see someone who's in worse shape than me. Then I just pick myself up, dust off and start swinging again.

Yep.

Good one Steve!

It's good you're getting on your feet again Mason, even if it's in bits (and pieces, I couldn't resist)!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks foreverserenity. As long as the pieces don't start dropping off I'm happy.

With your determination, I am sure your recovery will be quick.  YOu have the right attitude, and that counts for more than any doctors advice.  Good luck.

Thanks Dr Guy. Being as I haven't seen a doctor since having the sutures removed (no insurance) attitude, determination, and common sense will have to do.

Given Manopeace's humor article this morning, you are safer for it!
