Yesterday I put my truck in the shop for routine servicing. He also serviced my APU. Everything seemed fine when I left, until I went to start the APU. It wouldn't run. It had been running just fine earlier that morning, before being serviced.
The shop is only open half a day on Saturday, and is closed on Sunday. I called the guy who runs the shop and told him about the problem. He called me back a little later and told me one of the mechanics, a different one, would meet me at the shop at 8:00 am Sunday (today).
He was right on time, After about 90 minutes of troubleshooting the problem (not getting any fuel), and replacing the fuel pump, blowing out the fuel line, and assorted other things, he finally realized that the guy who worked on it yesterday and put on the wrong fuel filter. Doh!
Both he and I were more than a little pissed to have our time wasted on a Sunday morning because of someone's stupid mistake. That guy doesn't yet know it, but he's in some hot water for costing the shop the overtime over something so stupid. I wouldn't want to be him tomorrow morning.
I had originally planned to leave out today for Baltimore but after all of that decided to just wait and leave tomorrow morning. Besides, my last four or five loads have involved having to tarp and my back is pretty sore from wrestling with those hundred pound tarps.
The cut off for the fire truck to be at the port is Thursday so I have plenty of time; may as well rest up a bit. I'm going to do my paperwork and scan it into the office (which I should be doing now instead of typing this LOL) and then I'll probably go over to the yard and chain down my load and have it ready to roll tomorrow, maybe.
Maybe I'll just do the paperwork and leave the load work until tomorrow morning. I have the time and need the rest. I guess it will just depend on how quickly I get bored this afternoon.
