I delivered a snow broom truck to the airport in Denver Monday morning. I sat at the truck stop in Denver from Monday morning until today (Thursday) waiting for a reload. Very boring place.
This morning I was sitting in the truck stop drinking my coffee and checked my phone. Two voice mails. I never even heard it ring. It was dispatch who had finally found me a load out of there. It was a military truck, an APC, heading to WY. Well, better than nothing.
I ran down to Ft Carson and picked up the APC and headed North with it. I decided to lay over in Cheyenne. No truck stop closer to my delivery point and, besides, there's a bar next door to the truck stop there.
I had a few beers and a very good steak sandwich, along with some good conversation, amid my knitting.
The server who handled the food orders was especially friendly and interested in my knitting. We chatted here and there between her work demands. She wasn't the prettiest woman I have ever met but she was very friendly and had some amazing hair, thick and somewhat wild looking. We hit it off pretty well and I really enjoyed talking with her.
I'm back in my truck now and sorting through my emails and such as I haven't been online in several days. It's amazing how much emails and IMs can stack up if one is offline for a few days.
I'm also watching it snow. It's April 16th and it's snowing like hell out here. WTF? Where's all this global warming shit I keep hearing about? Looks like snow to me.
Ah well, I'm going to go to bed and try to reduce my carbon emissions. Fart less perhaps?
