I finally got dressed and dragged myself out of my hotel room around 11:00 this morning. I was getting hungry and thought Chinese sounded good. Nothing wring with a bit of sweet and sour tabby once in a while. I put on my wool coat, stocking cap, and gloves, and out I went. It's a bit warmer today than in previous days. It's still cold of course, but not that brutally frigid air that was around a couple of days ago.
There's a Chinese buffet a mile or so away from the hotel that I had been meaning to check out for a while and so headed there. The place was still pretty quiet and the huge buffet was all set up and fully stocked.
I have to say that those folks put out quite a spread and there was pretty much anything one could want in the way of Chinese food.
I grabbed a plate, some chopsticks, and piled on a little bit of everything. Twice. I ate too much of course, but that's what a buffet is for, right?
I've always like Chinese buffets as you get a whole lot of food for a very reasonable price. Beats the hell out of fast food any day.
I'm now back in my nice warm room, stuffed to the gills. At some point today I need to do my paperwork for this last trip and run it down to the office mail box so it can be processed tomorrow, but otherwise I don't have a damn thing that needs to get done.
I had picked up some new thermal underwear at Wally World on Friday and tried a new (to me) kind. Instead of the normal thermals these are a nice soft fleece. They're very warm and very confortable. They only had the two sets in my size and I got them both. I may go over to Fleet Farm this afternoon and see if they have them as I would really like to get another set or two to keep me warm while working outside.
I know that Cabella's sells the Under Armor stuff, which is extremely warm, but it's also pretty expensive so that's out. Cheap is my keyword these days. I'm hoping that towards the end of cold weather season they'll put them on sale and I can get a couple sets for next Winter as they would be nice to have when it's frigid outside.
With any luck they'll have my truck repaired sometime late tomorrow and I can get back out on the road and make a few bucks. In the meantime I'll just hang out here where it's nice and warm.
