A bunch of useless crap

This morning I drove 90 minutes over to AR to pick up a tractor after spending all day yesterday sitting around a truckstop. Once I got the tractor loaded and chained down I called in expecting them to either have something else for me to pick up or to just proceed to WI.

Well, they did in fact have something else for me to pick up, in Wichita. Monday. Geez.

So I drove the hour up to Joplin and parked in yet another truckstop. I'll be sitting here until Sunday and then I'll head on over towards Wichita which is about 4 hours away.

Yet more sitting around not making any money. Gotta love this wonderful economy. As I haven't been to the yard to turn in my paperwork since I headed for home the last time I haven't seen a paycheck in over three weeks, and with picking up in Wichita on Monday I obviously won't make it in to turn the paperwork in by the cut off of Monday morning, so that means it'll now be two more weeks before I do get paid. Lovely.

I could have taken another advance today to get me through the weekend, but I've been forced to take so many lately, what with breakdowns and such, that I fear that if I do I'll wind up not getting paid at all as the advances eat up my earnings. Ah well, I have twenty bucks left, if I eat cheap enough I can stretch that through the weekend.

This damn slow freight situation needs to break sooner than later. At this point I haven't the slightest idea how I am going to pay my bills, some of which are already past due. My income has dropped to a mere fraction of what it was just a few months ago, and is not even close to what it was this time last year.

I need to just hang in there as best I can until things improve. I'm sure they will, the only question is when. It's depressing as hell, but I won't let it get me down. I know it'll be better eventually. I know I'm not the only one hurting right now too, there are lots of people out there having to struggle and wonder where they're going to get the money to pay for essentials. Lean times for many.

I think I'll just knit some more to take my mind off things. No point in worrying about something you can't change.

Hang in there M! I like that you're positive about it, that's a good thing!  I do hope things get better soon.
