Tomorrow I have to pick up a tractor at an equipment dealer in AR. I'm spending today, Thanksgiving, sitting at a truckstop in OK about 90 minutes from where I'll be picking up.

As a majority of drivers are home for Thanksgiving, finding a parking space in the truckstop was no problem. I am just sitting here looking out my windshield watching the travelers come and go in their cars, SUVs, pickups, and RVs.  Traffic was horrible. Doesn't anyone actually stay home for Thanksgiving any more?

I'll probably wander inside in a few hours for some turkey and dressing and whatever else the truckstop puts out for their version of Thanksgiving dinner, and have some conversation with my fellow drivers who are also out here on the road instead of at home today. I don't mind really, it was my choice to remain out here instead of going home. Well, my choice was partially driven by the fact that business has been slow and I simply couldn't afford to go home, but my choice just the same.

I have internet access, my knitting, and some DVDs to watch, so it's all good. I'm going to hook up the tv antenna shortly and see if I can pull in any football games. I'd kind of like to see the Dallas game later on if I can pull it in. I am nowhere near a major city so I am not holding out much hope for that really.

All in all, except for the terrible traffic, it's actually been quite a pleasant day.
