A bunch of useless crap

I finally got an email from dispatch regarding a load. It's an oversized load coming out of Vidalia, GA which is about 7 hours from here. At this point they aren't certain when it will actually be ready to load and the shipper will be calling me directly to coordinate the loading.

I pointed out to dispatch that at 12' 2" wide it may be pointless to load it on the weekend as GA may not allow weekend movement of the load. Also, at that width it may possibly require escorts which will also have to be set up prior to the loading.

They're checking into all of this and will get back to me about the specifics regarding the permits, movement, and escorts. So at this point I am in a maybe I'm leaving maybe I'm not mode.

It's a good paying load which is a good thing, the uncertainty of the schedule is a pain at the moment though. Just wait and see I suppose.

I'm pretty well packed up and ready at this point. Not much else to do except to make the house ready to close up again and transport my gear back to the truck.

It's almost "on the road again" time.

Well things didn't quite go as planned. I got the machinery loaded, secured, and tarped, but the permits and bill of lading that were supposed to have been faxed to the plant...weren't. I left the load sitting there and bobtailed to the truckstop for the night. I have to deal with all of that this moirning.
