A bunch of useless crap

As I spend a tremendous amount of time behind the wheel, I see just about every kind of driving there is on the road today. From the maniacal aggressive driver who weaves in and out of traffic, cutting people off in an attempt to drive faster than the traffic is moving, to the snail powered vehicle riding 10 mph below the speed limit in the passing lane for 50 miles, and everything in between.

I am sure that anyone who drives a certain pet peeve that other drivers do that really get's their goat. My personal one is the driver who passes me, and then cut's in front of my 80,000 lbs rig so close that I can't even see his/her tail lights and then slams on the brakes so they can take the exit ramp they have almost passed in an attempt to pass the truck they didn't need to pass in the first damn place because they were exiting the freeway. Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!

Now that I have that off my chest, what's yours?

I have almost too many to name, and I've only had my license for 2+ months!

I'd have to say my worst involves a highway that has a lane that must merge due to construction and what not. I CANNOT STAND people who shoot up the lane that's getting ready to merge just to get up farther. What drives me even more insane is that someone lets him/her in!!!

You're not better than me, don't drive like it!

Those folks are lot's of fun, aren't they?

I would have to say it is the people who do not merge just sit there at a complete stop with their blinker on. Just get up to speed and pick your spot. Also people who half way get into the turn lanes. What is the point of having the nose of your car in the turn lane and your butt still blocking traffic? People who think that if they see a cop they have to drive ten miles below the speed limit. I could go on and on. Good topic. We can all vent our frustrations.

That's mine too.  The merge signs are clearly visible, but these assholes just keep going until the lane comes to an end...then either sit there and look pissed off that no-one will let them in, or try and edge their way in.  I like to give them a wave and a nice smile as I pass them by....and I never let them in.

Mason,
I have not been on much lately and it is good to hear that you are still around. Last I heard you had some sort of desk job down in Florida. how come you are driving for a living again?
Pet driving peeves? Too many!
How about when those people who pull out from a side street right in front of you, particularly when the road behind you is clear and if they had waited 5 seconds you wouldn't have had to slam on the brakes.
Or the guy who drives right on your tail (really pisses me off when I have two kids in the back.) This is when I slow right down until they back off.

The "lane ends 1 mile" folks are a lot of fun. A couple of years ago I was in heavy traffic where the left lane ended for construction. There was one jerk in a station wagon who came racing up just as I was entering the closed area. By the time he realized that he couldn't make it, he also couldn't stop before hitting the barrels.

A trooper was sitting and watching the whole thing. As one of the barrels hit my rig, I pulled off and stopped as well. The guy immediately began yelling that "That damn truck should have stopped so I could get in!". The trooper said "That's all I needed to hear" and proceed to put the cuffs on the jerk.

I smiled and got back in my rig as the officer used his cruiser to block traffic long enough for me to be on my way.
