So far dispatch hasn't found me a decent load out so I am still hanging out at home. The day isn't over yet and they could call any time. Somehow I suspect I'll be here over the weekend. That's ok.
During the Winter I don't normally cut my hair as the extra insulation comes in handy when out in the cold weather chaining/strapping loads. But today I noticed that I was really looking pretty shaggy and decided to go ahead and walk over to the barber shop and get it cut. I have to admit that, loss of insulation aside, it does look and feel a lot better.
What with the chest congestion I really haven't felt like riding my bent since I got home. I realy didn't have the wind and honestly still don't. But I needed to go to the bank and draw some cash off my fuel/payroll card so I aired up the tires, gave it a quick pretrip inspection, donned my helmet, and rode over there to take care of bidness.
Due to the aforementioned chest congestion I took it slow and really enjoyed the ride. It felt good to get out and pedal around a bit, enjoying the sunshine, warm air, and just the general joy of being outdoors. Yeah it was a pretty short trip, just about a mile round trip, but it was about all I had the wind for and I enjoyed it anyway. I'll be glad when this crud finally clears out of my chest.
Despite the financial down side to sitting at home I have to admit it feels nice to just kick back and relax. I've been knitting a curtain for the window in the exterior door in my bedroom. It runs pretty much the height of the door and is turning out to be taking longer than I expected even on the large size 15 needles. I am making it something like a sort of fishing net sort of design and I think it'll look ok once I finally get it finished. Ah well, it's something to do.
