A bunch of useless crap

It's amazing how life can do an about face so suddenly you have to stop and ask "what the hell just happened?". A couple of weeks ago I was just about as low as a person can get. I was unemployed, in physical and emotional pain, and depressed to the point of just giving up. I just couldn't see how things could ever get better.

This past weekend I moved to Florida to stay at my mother's house while I looked for work and a place to live. I really didn't feel hopeful about the employment prospects. I have a really bad back so truck driving was no longer an option. I had been out of the telecommunications industry for 7 years and wasn't sure what kind of work I could do there now. It just really didn't look good. I really needed an office job.

I arrived in Florida Monday evening and set to work job hunting first thing Tuesday morning. I was still very unhopeful. Wednesday afternoon I interviewed for an office position with a company in telecommunications and I heard words I really didn't expect to hear; "When can you start?"

Wow! I was hired on the spot. Just like that. They were looking for someone with heavy computer experience anda telecommunications background with management experience who could potentially move up into management later on. It was exactly my background. I was floored.

After getting the great news about being hired, I was told that a home was going to come available near here within a couple of months. And, it would be at a price I could afford. Wow again.

Seems like since I decided to make this move my life has suddenly done a 180 degree turn for the better. I can see the beginnings of a possibly bright future unfolding in front of me where before I saw only gloom and doom.

It is truly amazing how quickly things can turn around just when it seems that everything has crashed down around your head. It really is true what they say, "It's always darkest just before the dawn".

It's always nice to ride out of the storm into the sun. Ain't it sweet?

That's good to hear when another prevails and this will be an accomplishment you can look back on and be proud you got through.  Sometimes pain can deepen us and strengthen our future resolve...
