A bunch of useless crap

I left WV yesterday morning and didn't stop until I reached the yard in WI last night. They had a load waiting here for me that I knew would take a little time to get all secured and the first stop is in Eastern OH for 11:00 Monday. While not outside the realm of possibility it still promises to make for a long day.

I got up early this morning to begin securing the load. In the light of day I spotted a couple of problems right off the bat. The first is that they told me there was a wooden crate that needed to be tarped. Um, yeah, the damn thing is like 12 feet high and it's positioned between the generators that make up the rest of the load. There is no way in Hell that I can get a tarp over the thing.

The second and worse problem is that the two generators on the back are sitting side by side. Normally that's no big deal, you just run the chains through the holes they put in them for the purpose of chaining them down, and secure both at the same time. Only problem here is whatever idiot loaded them onto the trailer yesterday staggered them so far that the holes don't even come close to lining up with each other, making it impossible to run chains through them to secure them. Argh!

Naturally, being Sunday morning there is nobody here. I got on the phone and called "R" as this mess is his show. I woke him of course. I explained the problem with the generators and told him something had to be done or they weren't going anywhere. He told me he was "up North" meaning Green Bay, and that he would call his brother, the boss, and have him come down and move them.

I have everything else secured now, and so far no boss. I know he doesn't live all that far from the yard so am not sure if he is still asleep and "R" couldn't reach him, he's having some coffee and trying to wake up, or is off someplace else. Would be nice to hear from somebody and let me know what's happening. I can't sit around here all day and then be where I need to be tomorrow morning.

Besides, I'm getting damn hungry and wouldn't mind getting some breakfast about now. I may just drop the damn trailer and go eat. He can call me whenever he deigns to show up.

What can I say? I get grumpy when I'm hungry.

Ok, I'm done bitching now. Have a nice day.

heheh  I am right there with you on being grumpy when hungry.  I hope you got some food by now, but if not, just chew some butt when the culprit shows up

I am glad i didn't do the load wrong. I wouldn't blame you for going for breakfast. I think the one who screwd up the loading should have to face you and correct it to your specifications before you had breakfast. I highly doubt he/she would do it again.

Good luck.. hope you have eaten and the load straightened up by now.

I'd hate to be on the receiving end of an angry and hungry Mason. Hell, those knitting needles could turn into chopsticks pretty quickly!

SO?  When did he show up?  I guess he was at the "game".  But when you own a business that is the price of ownership, missing the "game".

Thats ok too, since Dallas lost, there will be another "Game" this sunday.

Yeah, being hungry tends to lead to being grumpy.

Yeah, normally we're right there when they load the stuff. Ah well, stuff happens.
