A bunch of useless crap
I won't hear it because I don't live in a forest

I never got a call from dispatch today so I guess they didn't find me a reasonable load out of here. Looks like I'll be spending New Year's at home for a change. I'm not too surprised really. Business is usually dead during the holidays anyway. If I have to choose between spending New Year's Eve sitting comfortably at
home or in some damn truckstop someplace, I'll choose my recliner every time.

I don't have any sort of party plans for New Year's. I don't like to be out on amateur drunk night. Too many of the damn fools out driving around drunker than a ship full of sailors on weekend liberty. No thanks. I'll likely be right here at home and usher in the new year quietly and without a lot of fanfare.

To be honest I've never really understood the need to celebrate the fact that everyone will be writing and typing the wrong date for several weeks. Silly isn't it? The only real difference between 12/31 and 1/1 is an arbitrary division someone decided upon many years ago. Hanging up a new calendar is hardly worth a party.

But then, I've never really been all that into time anyway.

Wise words  and that thing about time could be a whole "nother" blog..

Hope your New Year is all you want it to be!

It's good to be home any day. And arbitrary dates are good enough for me!

If a tree falls in the forest, Gene will claim it's Bush's fault.

Yeah the whole time thing has never been one of my favorite things. My brain simply doesn't work along temporal lines.

Thanks.

Yeah being home is nice, but then so is making the almighty dollar so it's a trade off.

I don't like arbitrary dates. If I want it to be Juvember the 32nd it damn well should be.

Of course it would be Bush's fault. Everything is and Gene is never wrong.

Hopefully you get back on the road soon, but in the meantime take advantage of the break as best you can.

I am. I'm currently doing my best to kill a 12 pack.

Ah, the noble task of eliminating 12 beers from the world.

It's a tough job but somebody has to do it.

I use to work NY Eve Parties, but always hated the trip home.  Now I just stay home.  Safer that way.

Hope you get a good trip soon, and have a better 08 than 07 was.

Yeah driving on that night is simply not a good idea.

Thanks, you too.
