I made a delivery in Northern Indiana yesterday, one in Georgia today, and am now spending the night in Florida. I'll make my final stop here in Florida tomorrow before noon and then make the 90 minute drive from there to home.
I've been out around six weeks this time and am looking forward to getting home for a few days. I have an amazing amount of laundry to do. I might just take one day and go to the laundrymat to do it instead of spending my entire home time doing it a little at a time. That will allow me more rest time although I do hate laundrymats.
It feels good to be out of the cold weather if even for just a week or so. It'll give my bones a chance to warm up again. It also feels good to not have to be so bundled up against the cold.
I'm watching a Sheriff's deputy cruising around the truckstop parking lot. Nice to know they're here as it tends to cut down on the nonsense.
While standing in line to pay for my dinner some young driver was looking at the alligator heads they sell to tourists. He asked the cashier if all of those came from around here. She assured him that they had. He then said "I'm from Kansas, I think I'd rather deal with the tornadoes than alligators".
I couldn't resist, so I said "Yeah, I really hate the way those damn gators regularly wipe out entire towns in less than a minute".
He just got this really stupid look on his face and walked away. LOL Ah well, you get your amusement where you can.
I put in a bunch of miles today and am pretty well bushed. Time to pop in a DVD and kick back for a while. I'm looking forward to sleeping in my bed at home tomorrow night.
