A bunch of useless crap

I finished the hat I was knitting for one of the Applebee's bartenders. She wasn't working when I got there but "C" was working. She's the one who calls me "Sam" as she thinks my voice sounds like Sam Elliott. During our conversation she told me when "M" would be coming to work and after seeing the hat I had made told me she was sure she would love it.

I hung around and eventually "M" showed up for work. I called her over and gave her the finished hat. She checked it out and gave me a big hug for making it for her. "C" also came over and gave me a big hug for "being so thoughtful".

I enjoyed myself.

During the course of my stay there a couple more of the servers came over to talk with me and gave me hugs. I do enjoy being hugged by the fairer sex.

All in all I have to say that it was a pleasurable evening. I talked deer hunting and law enforcement with a couple of my fellow patrons, all the while I was knitting away on my next project. I talked about family problems with a couple of the employees there as they seem to kind of view me as a father (or crazy uncle) figure., and even got into a discussion about knitting with a rather attractive lady who came over to ask about my knitting.

That's so cool that you got some hugs for your knitting.

Here is hoping future knitting projects garner you more of these...especially from the females.

Nifty. So what kind of stuff are you doing these days? I've been working on a sampler afghan on and off, but I'm thinking about getting off the cables and lace kinda crap and trying fair isle. I thought it might be fun to do stuff copied from old rock t-shirts. I mean, wouldn't you wear a greatful dead sweater? Or an led zepplin toboggan? Maybe AC DC socks.

Or tattoos. Sweet. Like a sweater with a big Homeward Bound with the clipper ship across the chest and a Man's Ruin on one bicep and tribals on the other, with a dragon on the back? Or have I gone past all sanity? Knitting = madness + hugs? Hi. Wow it's late.

Lately I've mostly just been doing hats and cabled scarves, with an occasional pair of socks tossed in for good measure. I'm thinking of starting a sweater soon.

Your ideas sound pretty cool to me. I've been wanting to try my hand at Fair Isle myself. Go for it.

At least the delay was profitable.  In hugs.
