A bunch of useless crap

I hung around the hotel until check out time this morning. I then went down to the truckstop for brunch. Shortly after eating dispatch called me.

He said that he had been running the numbers on a load to get me home. I basically had two choices. I could either take a cheap paying load that only goes within a few hundred miles of home today or hang around until Monday for a good paying one that actually goes to FL. He also said that the boss was willing to pay for the hotel room if I opted to remain until Monday.

As I had already missed being home for Thanksgiving I didn't see much point in taking a cheap paying load just to hope that they could find me something on the other end to get me the rest of the way home so I am now checked back into the hotel for the weekend.

I can't say that I am exactly thrilled to be sitting around for a few more days but at the moment it's the lesser of two evils. Well, at least I'll be well rested for the trip home next week.

Actually I just finished the hat I was knitting for one of the bartenders. I'll be giving it to her shortly. I hope she likes it.

It's a nice color, the hat.

So sorry you didn't make it home in time for Thanksgiving. Hope you get home soon and hopefully you'll be home for Christmas! (there's a song in there somewhere!!)

Hope you are on the road and have a safe trip.  As you pass Richmond (if you are going that way), check out the bright lights - that was my weekend project.
