A bunch of useless crap

I'm about to depart the yard heading for Tacoma, WA. I picked this Marine Corps truck up in Oshkosh yesterday. We knew it was going to be heavy as it's armor plated so I am using a brand new three axle heavy haul trailer. I'm the first one to use this trailer and it's the first one of it's kind we have purchased. I'm sitting here now as the mechanics are finishing making it ready for the road as I found a few mechanical problems with it when I picked up this load. Kinda sucks that a brand new $100,000 trailer came from the factory not road ready.

After I picked up the truck I went to the truckstop to scale so we would know the weight to order permits. I about shit when I read the scale ticket. 102,380 lbs! Holy heavy hauling, Batman! It's going to be some very slow going in the mountains out west. Slow climbs and slow descents as I will be going very easy down those grades. I don't especially like heavy haul but it does pay well so I don't pass them up.

Last night I spent a little time with the boss and the dispatchers down at pub at the bottom of the hill. We drank a few beers, played dice, and generally acted like idiots for a while. It was a good time but I'm feeling it this morning. Once they finish working on the trailer I'll head down to the truckstop and get some coffee and breakfast. That'll have me in good shape again.

It's kinda cold here this morning but feels better than the past couple of days as the fierce cold wind has finally died down. I saw a little snow in the northern part of the state on Monday. Yuck. I'm not looking forward to Winter. I guess it's time to break out the longhandles.

Thanks. I'm now hanging out at a truckstop waiting for my permits. I can't cross the state line until I have the permits to do so legally. I'm pretty sure the weigh station will notice 100,000 lbs

Is that the truck only?  Or the truck and the trailer?

Have a safe trip over those mountains.  It is getting cold here as well, but then since it is November, that is normal (Acch!  Global Warming!

It's the total weight, the military truck (60,000 lbs) plus my rig.

Amazingly enough I am in MT tonight and it's actually pretty comfortable. I thought it would be freezing here.
