A bunch of useless crap

I finally made it back to the yard late this morning and promptly put my truck in the shop to have the belt replaced on my generator. I checked with dispatch and as "R" hadn't yet planned anything for me I told him I was going to go hide out in the hotel over the weekend as I was tired as hell and my bum hip is killing me.

He understood and said he would just plan on my being ready on Monday and may use me for some local stuff that day. That worked for me and as soon as my truck was ready I beat it to the hotel to check in.

As it wasn't yet 1:00 PM when I checked in my room was still being cleaned. The lady at the desk apologized for that but I told her it was no problem and that I'd just grab some lunch. I went to Applebee's and had a couple of cold ones with my lunch.

I returned there for dinner and the bartender "M" was working at that time. She commented on the fact that I hadn't brought my knitting with me. Before I could reply she said that she knew why, that I had started working on her hat and didn't want her to see it until it's finished.

The truth is, I was just too damn tired to knit, but was nice and told her that yes, in fact that was the reason. It was partly true as I am currently in the process of making her hat.

I called it a night early and made my way back to my room after eating. I'm just going to chill out here for tonight and get some rest. I need it.

They are testing the circuit move from one site to another for the State mainframes, so I have to be here to say "Yep, we are up".

And the time change. The time change seems to be going fine, the other has had a few problems. If it goes well, I should be out of here by 11. AM hopefully.

That makes sense. Best to be done when the system isn't in use. If there weren't a few problems I would be really worried.
