A bunch of useless crap

I parked at this truckstop in Fond du Lac, WI late yesterday afternoon. After grabbing a bite to eat I decided to stretch my legs and go find a couple of cold ones.

My GPS indicated a bar about a mile away so I started walking in that direction. The trusty GPS lead me right to the place. It was called Rumors, and the sign on the building read "Rumors Adult Day Care". I thought that was pretty amusing so I went on inside. It was a typical little neighborhood tavern, wasn't very busy, and seemed like a good spot to enjoy a couple.

The place got busier as time passed, not surprising for a Saturday evening. The locals were a friendly bunch, as was the lady who owns the joint. I had a pretty enjoyable time. The crowd was a mix of college age kids, folks around my age, and a few older people. They ranged from bikers to retied factory workers and just about everything in between. Everyone seemed to know everyone, except for me of course, and there wasn't the slightest hint of trouble at all.

I eventually called for a cab and rode back to the truckstop, I had originally planned on walking back but this cold, damp weather has my hip feeling a bit stiff so I decided to skip the return walk. One person offered to give me a ride back but he seemed pretty drunk to me and I wasn't comfortable with the idea of him driving so I just thanked him and told him that I had already phoned for the cab.

It's a cold, rainy sort of a day here today. Yuck. The kind of grey day that makes you just want to stay in and nap. I fired up the generator to try and knock the chill off inside the truck, but for some reason the heat isn't working.I'll have to get the shop to check it tomorrow. It isn't cold enough for that to be a real concern, but I want to make sure it's in good working order before the real cold weather kicks in. For now I just threw on a nice warm sweat shirt and am comfortable enough.

I had worked on my current knitting project, a black scarf in a reversible pattern, last night but between the few beers I'd had, the poor lighting, and watching a movie I screwed up the pattern. As I wasn't all that far along I decided to just frog the whole thing and start over. I now have it cast on again and restarted.

It's promising to be a pretty dull day. I am just going to hang out, watch a few movies, and do some knitting. Not really much else to do. I thought about checking into the motel located here at the truckstop but they want 45 bucks a night and they don't even have cable. Screw that. For 45 bucks I'd expect to at least be able to watch cable tv.

It's amazing to me how much money motels get for just a bed and a phone!  and local channels too..

If I hadn't read this I wouldn't have known what "frogging" was!     I would have guessed you were driving on roads covered in frogs!  Which actually does happen in MN. during August usually.

Weather here is grey and rainy too,   that time of year....  yucky is exactly the right word!

Yep, it's kinda sad when $45 only gets you a fleabag room these days.

Adult Day care?  I love the imagination of people around this nation!  That would be worth a drop in for me as well!
