A bunch of useless crap

It looks like Wal Mart, at least the one here, doesn't want the knitter's business any more. I just got back from there and was complaining about the lack of selections regarding yarn, which was more pathetic than usual for them.

The clerk who was stocking the shelves told me that it's far more than they will have in a couple of more months. She said that they are scaling it down and will only have four feet of shelf space dedicated to yarn. Four feet!

I told her that I supposed that's just one more reason for me to stop shopping there. I really wish I had the resources to open a yarn shop here in town. We don't have a single one, not even a Jo Ann's. I'd make a killing.

Wal Mart could close their doors tomorrow for all I care now. They don't want my business any more and frankly I hate the store anyway. Wal Mart can kiss my ass.

I had seen a news item about the shrinking craft section in some newer Walmarts.  There were some women in the west who didn't have another location to buy fabric for miles.  The answer was to buy online but that wasn't impressing the women being interviewed.  It's just a business decision for Walmart.  If they can make more money stocking other merchandise than yarn or fabric, that's what they're going to do.

I guess the businesses in the other towns near here will be seeing some increased business. Good for them, bad for Wal Mart. A lot of the locals here are becoming fed up with the Wal Mart and are opting to do all of their shopping elsewhere. I'll be joining them from now on.

(If I buy ya some, will you make me an Irish Hiking scarf?)

I'd be happy to. I've found a slightly different pattern which is a variation of the Irish Hiking Scarf, called a Palindrome Scarf which is reversible cable scarf (cables show on both sides). On the Irish hiking Scarf the cables only show on one side. I can do either one.

This is the Palindrome Scarf

Yeah I have grown to hate the place.

In all seriousness, I avoid it as well.  Other than food, I do almost all my shopping on the internet.  Shame they dont have bricks there.

Cool! You can choose the project, Mason, I just need a new scarf for the winter. (Ceasar kinda chewed up my last one when he was still a pup.)

How many skeins do you need? I'll buy extra so you can have some yarn leftover for yourself.

It takes about 450 - 500 yards of worsted weight yarn. I sent you an email through your JU profile. You can email me back through that.
