I spent a little time in the bar next to the hotel in which I am staying. I took my backpack with me and worked on my knitting while there. It fostered some amusing comments.
Hey, I'm not knocking it, you're bigger than I am.
That looks like good therapy but I'm not big enough to do that in public.
Cool, whatcha makin? Do all truckers do that?
Everyone I talked with tonight commented on my knitting and more than a couple of them indicated in a round about way that they were respectful about it because I am bigger than they are and didn't want to piss me off. Ok, I can live with that but that's hardly manly or brave on their part.
I tell people what I think regardless of their relative size or position. The idea of candy coating my thoughts because of a person's relative size or position seems revolting to me. Why do people do that? Pussies.
I am the sort of person to whom you can tell exactly what you think. I may not agree with you, but I respect your opinion as your own. I may even tell you to fuck off, but that doesn't mean I am going to stomp on you because of it. Why do people assume that a big guy will kick their ass for pissing them off?
Ok, I'll admit that there are times when I do enjoy the benefits of being bigger than average. It does come in handy, but mostly due to other people's assumptions. I have been known to use it to my advantage. But still, people make some assumptions they really shouldn't make. I really am a nice guy. Most of the time.
