It's pretty damn chilly in WI about now. Long sleeves and jackets chilly. It's too early for this crap. When I was in VT earlier this week I noticed that the leaves on the trees are already starting to change colors. It's too early for that too. I've opened up the heat valves in my truck and have the heat going in my hotel room now.
I checked into the hotel today and spent the evening hanging out at the Appleby's next door. I worked on my knitting a bit while I was there and it was confirmed once again that it's a great conversation starter. I had a good time talking to the women who came over to comment on my knitting. I managed to get several hugs and even a couple of kisses on the cheek out of it. The manager gave me a big hug when I came in and she gave me another when I was leaving and made me promise to come back as soon as possible. Nice girl.
I'm off to CO tomorrow morning. It's only about 17 or 18 hours driving time from here so not a hard run. I'll be there Monday morning easy. I should be able to get some geocaching time in on the way, which I am looking forward to as it's been on the back burner lately and want to get back to it.
I stopped by Cabela's today and picked up a couple new pairs of pants and a couple of shirts. I'm working on getting my Winter clothing together before the really cold weather starts. The Winter stuff I have has seen a few Winters and it's time to start replacing it with new stuff.
While I was at the shop this afternoon one of the mechanics commented on the number of hats I have in my truck. He's also a hat person and I guess he was happy to know that there's at least one other person working there that also likes wearing hats. I have about a dozen hats in my truck. I have many, many more at home and regularly rotate them between the house and the truck. What can I say? I like wearing hats. A few of them are ballcap style hats but most are real hats.
It's after Labor Day so I've started regrowing my beard for Winter. No more shaving at least until Spring.
That's about enough rambling for now. Well, ok, almost enough. I did trim my toenails today. Ok, now I'm done.
