I'm parked for the night in North Little Rock, AR after spending last night in a motel in a little burg known as Seven Oaks, TX. The motel was cheap, the lounge wasn't overly busy, and it was a relaxing evening.
The drive up to here today wasn't too bad but could have been better if there weren't so many complete morons on the roads. Happens every holiday weekend. One in particular had me about ready to run her dumb ass off in the ditch if for no other reason than the safety of the motoring public.
This silly bitch passed me and I noticed that she was too busy goofing around with the guy in the passenger seat to really be paying attention to her driving. When she changed from the passing lane back into the right lane she immediately began slowing down and was now in my way. I changed lanes and went around her.
The moment I moved back into the right lane this goofy broad moved left and passed me again. Within about a mile she had again slowed down and was once again in my damn way. I passed her dumb ass once again.
As before she immediately moved out and passed me for a third time. I'd had about enough of her stupidity at this point. She was simply too busy doing anything and everything but pay attention to her driving. When she passed me that time, as before, she started slowing down again. This time I stayed in the lane and blasted the air horns directly behind her.
I guess this scared her enough that she pulled her empty head out of her ass and hit the gas. That was, thankfully, the last I saw of that stupid bitch. The way she was weaving back and forth on the road, running off onto the shoulder several times, anyone would have thought she was drunk. I would have thought the same had I not seen that she was simply not paying the slightest bit of attention to her driving.
I wonder if they made it to their destination or wound up killing someone. I really despise stupid drivers.
But I did finally make it to here. I'm now waiting for someone to fill the parking spot on my left. The truckstop is filling up but the spot on my left is a bit of a tight backing situation thanks to some dumbass parked directly across from it in a spot clearly marked "No Parking". I swear I think some drivers believe that means the spot was reserved just for them. Idiots.
A couple of trucks have tried backing into the spot but weren't able to do so and moved on. I'm hoping someone will manage to fill it before it gets dark and the chances of someone hitting my truck in the process goes up greatly.
I'm hauling fiberglass conduit and one stack shifted a bit today so tomorrow morning I'll have to climb up and try to get it restacked properly so it will stay put during the ride. Luckily the stacks only weigh a few hundred pounds each so it shouldn't be too hard to shift them around and get them back into place. Thankfully it's not steel or something.
I almost bought an electronic keyboard earlier. I saw that the truckstop has a reasonably nice Casio keyboard on sale for a hundred bucks. I was really tempted as I always enjoyed playing the keyboard and am seriously out of practice, but I decided that the last thing I need is something else taking up precious room in my truck. Maybe I'll take up harmonica.
