A bunch of useless crap

I made delivery at the Army Depot in Texarkana, TX this morning despite having a little too much liquid fun last night. I felt better than I expected when I woke so I grabbed a cup of coffee and headed on over there. It actually went pretty smoothly for a change.

I cruised on down towards Houston after that. I'm parked about an hour North of there. When I got here I fueled up although I was only down to about 50%. I wanted the free shower that comes with fueling up. I had my shower and shave and then hit the diner for an actual sit down meal after eating on the run for the past few days.

The special was catfish, fries, hushpuppies, and iced tea. Perfect. I finished it off with a nice slice of pecan pie.

Now I can kick back and relax for the evening. I'm going to pop in a DVD, kick off my boots, and just chill out.

Amazingly enough, dispatch actually found me a reload for after my delivery in Houston tomorrow morning. Even more amazing is that it's only about 30 minutes away from where I deliver, and absolutely incredible is that they'll be working until 4:00 PM so I won't have to be in any rush at all to get there.

It's going to be a meandering kind of run. Spring, TX to Ft Wayne, IN to Chicago (yuck), to Des Moines, IA. Some sort of fiberglass tubing. I have no idea, I assume it's some sort of pipe but can't recall ever seeing any made of fiberglass so am a bit curious to see it. All I know for sure is dispatch said it's a no tarp load so I'm happy.

Ah well, time to kick back, watch a DVD, and listen to it rain on my truck. I'm thinking I'll break out that X Files boxed set and watch a few episodes.

Mmmmmm, pie!  Good old Southern style Pecan Pie.  Can't beat that with a stick.

I never got into X Files much, but cool that you have a set to catch episodes from.

If you haven't caught the series on TV, Heroes: Season 1 just came out on DVD also.  Highly recommended.  :big thumbs up:

Only problem with Heroes would be you'd probably want to keep watching once you got started and it would possibly slow you down on the road trips.

I was a big X Files fan for the first couple of seasons or so and then it kind of went down hill. I guess they just ran out of ideas.

I've never seen Heroes but will check it out.

Years dont start and end on the calendar.  Perhaps yours starts now, and that bad year of screwups is over with.

Good luck on your return trip.

Thanks. The trip is going well so far but there did turn out to be a screw up after all. The first stop is at the opposite end of IN from what I was told which will make getting it and the Chicago stop off in the same day impossible. That'll extend the whole trip by another day which of course cuts into the whole profit thing.

Oh well, still beats sitting in Houston for three days.
