Typical BS for today. I got up early so I could make it to the GA delivery point, a construction site, on time. I got there 15 minutes early. I then proceeded to waste the morning while these guys tried to figure out how they were going to unload this 14,000 lbs generator.
The way the road was graded it was impossible for me to get close to the pad they had pured without getting my trailer hung. I'm pulling a double drop and there is only about 4 inches of clearance. Also, the crane operator didn't bring any spreader bars, which are required to pick this thing up. Wonderful.
They finally made arrangements for me to just take it to a rigging yard and have them unload it. Naturally they were all at lunch when I got here. I'm now waiting for them to return from lunch and unload this thing so I can go and have my breakfast and then get on down the road.
I was hoping that I would be able to put this off quick this morning and at least have a shot of making the Jacksonville delivery late this afternoon. So much for that.
Oh well, I'll make the Jacksonville delivery tomorrow morning and with any luck be home around lunch time.
Right now I just want to get to the truckstop and have something to eat. I have the makings for a couple of sandwiches but would rather have something cooked. Shouldn't be too much longer until they get back from lunch, and the truckstop is only a couple of miles down the road, so I don't think I'll starve to death between now and then.
