I just finished watching the movie 'Take The Lead' starring Antonio Banderas, based upon the ballroom dance program started in NYC schools by Pierre Dulaine. As a fan of ballroom dance ( I did a pretty mean Tango before I busted my hip) I really enjoyed the movie. Banderas departed from his typical tough guy role and depicted a caring and dedicated dance instructor/high school teacher and did a pretty damn good job of it. I write that grudgingly as I am not an Antonio Banderas fan.
The movie, despite it's typical Hollywood unlikely story line twists, was very enjoyable and actually made you care about the charactors. That's a rare thing in most films produced these days. It's simply a fun and worthwhile film, especially if you enjoy dance.
