A bunch of useless crap

I just finished watching the movie 'Take The Lead' starring Antonio Banderas, based upon the ballroom dance program started in NYC schools by Pierre Dulaine. As a fan of ballroom dance ( I did a pretty mean Tango before I busted my hip) I really enjoyed the movie. Banderas departed from his typical tough guy role and depicted a caring and dedicated dance instructor/high school teacher and did a pretty damn good job of it. I write that grudgingly as I am not an Antonio Banderas fan.

The movie, despite it's typical Hollywood unlikely story line twists, was very enjoyable and actually made you care about the charactors. That's a rare thing in most films produced these days. It's simply a fun and worthwhile film, especially if you enjoy dance.

I saw this one the other week. Not too bad. Enjoyed the dance scenes. Sigh...wish I could be that light on my feet.

Me too. I'm more like a bumbling caveman these days.

If I ever really found some time, I think I could borrow this one fairly easily and watch it.  Unfortunately I never seem to have the time, and didn't know in advance if this was a movie that was really worth taking time on.

Thanks for the short review and recommendation.  I may yet find some time and watch it.

It's worth it. Not academy award material but a good flick in my opinion.
