The community in which I live is all private property with all privately owned streets. There are signs at the beginning of each street stating this fact along with "No Trespassing". Of course there is a certain element of society that ignores such warnings and feel that they entitled to go wherever they please even if it's illegal to do so. We get a few of these people wandering through just about every day. As there have been a few break ins most of us keep an eye out for people who do not belong here.
A couple of minutes ago I walked into the kitchen and glanced out the kitchen window. I saw a guy standing on my carport next to my bent. I immediately shot out the door but as soon as I hit the door he took off running like a jackrabbit. Scumbag. It's probably a good thing he took off running, otherwise I might be on my way to jail now for assault and battery on a trespasser. I keep my bike locked with a very good quality cable lock, but I still don't like the idea of someone feeling like they can just walk right up on my carport uninvited.
What the hell is wrong with these people? I wouldn't dream of just walking up onto someone's property like that. Damn good way to get shot, especially in this state where deadly force to defend self and property is legal.
