A bunch of useless crap

I'm on a load home. I loaded most of it at the yard in WI on Tuesday morning and then picked up two large crated machines in Holland, MI on Wednesday morning. The first stop is in Jacksonville, FL for Monday morning, then I have a stop in Ft Lauderdale and one in Miami. Once I get them delivered I'll be going home for about a week.

As I can't deliver until Monday I've been doing the run in small hops. I don't want to get down there too quickly and wind up sitting around in one truck stop for a couple of days. I'd rather space it out so it doesn't seem like such a long wait. I'm now just a bit South of Atlanta. I'll hang around here for the rest of the day and then go the rest of the way down tomorrow. If I drag my feet enough I'll get down there tomorrow afternoon.

I've found the GPS unit so helpful to my work that yesterday I ordered a little higher end model. It should arrive at my house just about the same time I do. It's a Garmin Nuvi 350. They normally sell for over $500 but I found an online deal for one under $400 and free shipping to boot. Turns out to be over $100 cheaper than buying it from Wal Mart. It has more sensitive electronics, more data storage, and is all around a more advanced unit than the one I am currently using (which isn't at all bad in itself).

Now I have no idea what I am going to do with the one I am currently using.

I guess I'll grab a bite for lunch and try to kill some time here. Hanging around truck stops isn't a lot of fun and can get expensive if you're not careful. There's a Subway here. That'll do for lunch I think.

Sounds like that GPS unit is perfect for your profession.   It'll be nice too to get some down time I would imagine.

BTW,  what's your favorite Subway sandwich?   Just curious.   I usually go for the tuna,   been wanting to try the one with bacon and chicken?  I think that's the one.  ,  maybe I"m dreaming about a Burger King sandwich!

Yeah the GPS does make the job a lot easier.

I don't eat Subway enough to have a favorite. I tend to avoid fast food type stuff as a rule, but will have a sub every now and then. I had the roast beef yesterday.

That GPS is getting expensive!  Maybe I should wait to get one for my wife since an upgrade seems to be in the near future.

Actually the iWay would probably be perfect for her. I only decided to upgrade to a higher end model because of the work I do. It takes the iWay too long to generate a long distance route of a thousand miles or more (sometimes a minute or more) but for local driving it can generate a route in seconds.

Other than the route generation time it's worked quite well for me. If it hadn't I probably wouldn't have decided to upgrade.
