A bunch of useless crap

OK, a lot of people claim to follow the teachings of Jesus. That's cool, I agree with them myself.

In almost every truck stop I visit there is some scribling or other on the bathroom stall from a supposed Christian quoting some bible verse or a catchy Christian phrase or other. What kind of message does this really send? "Jesus saves" might well seem to be an important message to communicate, but when it's written on a bathroom stall what message does it really send?

So, Christians feel that it's ok to deface the property of another? It's ok to vandalize the property of someone else in the name of religion?

As far as I am concerned these people are complete morons. How does breaking the law and disrespecting the property of another in any way present a positive image for your religion? Kinda puts them in the same bunch of folks I see every day who pass by me driving well over the speed limit with a Christian fish symbol on the back of their vehicle.

I lied. I'm prone to do that, you know. One more:

This is a tee-pee for you to pee-pee not a wig-wam to beat your tom-tom.

Sigh...

saw a birdie in the snow
it had a broken wing and couldn't go
I lured it closer with some bread
and crushed it's tiny f****ing head

In a related story, the Vatican today released its 10 Commandments for Drivers.

"It called for drivers to obey speed limits and to exercise a host of Christian virtues: charity to fellow drivers, prudence on the roads, hope of arriving safely and justice in the event of crashes."

1. You shall not kill.

2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.

3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.

4. Be charitable and help your neighbor in need, especially victims of accidents.

5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.

6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.

7. Support the families of accident victims.

8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.

9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.

10. Feel responsible toward others.

I can't imagine calling a brother or sister in Christ stupid.

Why not? Stupid people are stupid people.

because.....as a follower of Christ he says NOT to that's why.

At the Sermon on the Mount he said whosoever shall say to his brother "empty head" shall be in danger of the council and whosoever shall call him a "fool" is in danger of hell fire.

Basically he was saying all this name calling reveals what's in the heart. Out of the heart the mouth speaks. It's heartitude that gets us into trouble.

And everywhere else all thru scripture we're to encourage each other, not tear each other down. We're not supposed to be Christian cannibals.

Besides, unless you know them you can only ASSUME they were Christians because you can't really know for sure.

It's definitely part of the fleshy, non-Christ part of us. But it's still there.

I agree with this....we're Christians, not Perfectionists. It's a battle between flesh and spirit when we misbehave.

I can call myself God, but that does not make it so.  People like to deceive themselves and believe they are one thing, when their deeds indicate they clearly are not.

Besides he did write "from a supposed Christian," meaning the actual Christianity of the person could be doubted based on his actions.

Bingo! Big difference between claiming to be one and actually being one.

Had KFC not been so quick to get all defensive she would have caught that herself.

oooooh Stop....defensive my foot!

look at your title........and then you said this:

The dozens of Christian scrawlings I see on bathroom walls are what? Atheists who are just writing these thing for kicks?

What am I supposed to think huh? If they're not atheists...they must be Christians right? I don't think I'm way off here Mason....just because you used the word "supposed" in one spot doesn't quite let you off the hook my friend.

And I did say something similar as the Doc did when I said just because a kid writes "bomb" on the wall doesn't make him the unabomber. But your reply to me led me to believe you meant to hurt Christians here.

I think you have a valid point in bringing this whole thing up but not quite the way you did..if you know what I mean.

Well, then, Mason's the least of your worries. Which is worse, a person who bashes "supposed" Christians for their car ornaments or a person who bears false witness against someone, runs them out of church and tries to have their children taken away.

I'll take 1,000 Masons over ONE of these Southern Baptists down here (don't know how different they are in YOUR neck of the woods).

since we're NE...we have very few SB groups up here. The ones we do have, are very good. So while I've heard alot of surprising and sad stories about the SB missionaries of late, I have not with the churches.

It just goes to show you have some bad apples in every barrel. Even Paul in his day was having these types of struggles so we shouldn't be surprised. Many start off ok, but then fall away or just plain go bad. I guess it's the whole wheat and tares thing Jesus spoke of.

Hook? That's laughable.

Yes, I did follow up your initial overly defensive post with some comments deliberately intended to egg you on as you had obviously totally missed the subtle aspects of my original post. Perhaps you should read the very first sentence again.

And I did say something similar as the Doc did when I said just because a kid writes "bomb" on the wall doesn't make him the unabomber.

Yes, you did, but you just couldn't stop with making that simple point but instead had to launch yourself into a flurry of defensiveness which prompted my later replies as, I'll say it yet again, you totally missed the point of the article.

I think you have a valid point in bringing this whole thing up but not quite the way you did..if you know what I mean.

I'll make my points in the manner in which I most see fit if you know what I mean.

Gotta love some folks ideas about "the fruits of the Spirit" eh? That's a whole other group of supposedly good, upright Christians I have real problems with. Nothing like the corruption of man to turn something good into something that stinks of week old dead fish.

Jesus Saves.

Hmmm...just two words scribbled on a men's room wall to cause such a commotion! Seems religion has a way of doing that, eh?

Yep.

There are stupid people in all walks of life. Becoming a Christian does not automatically increase your IQ. In fact, sometimes I think quite the opposite occurs, because the mind tends to snap shut at that point.

I have often come to that same conclusion regarding some people.

How come Jews never get to write on bathroom walls?
