A bunch of useless crap

When I stopped in at a fuel stop today to use the restroom and grab a Gatorade I saw (while using the restroom) a sale flier advertising a 256MB MP3 player they had on sale for $40. Hey, that's plenty big enough for me as I don't plan on using it for videos or anything. 256MB is a lot of music. I bought one.

It's a knock off of an iPod (but really tiny), and I'm sure it's not the highest quality, but it seems to work ok. It took me a while to figure out how the thing works. I tried to read the directions (unusual for me), but they were obviously written in another language and translated (poorly) and really made little sense. I just spent some time playing with it and finally figured out how all of the functions are accessed and how it all works.

I have to admit it's kind of a cool toy. Now I can transfer some music from my laptop to the MP3 player and listen to tunes while I ride my bike or do other stuff that I may not want to carry my laptop with me.

I do need to find some better earbuds though. The ones that came with it don't quite fit in my ears and feel like they wanna fall out at any moment. Maybe I can fit them with some ear gels and make them fit better. I'm pretty sure I have some gels in my truck. Somewhere.

On a totally unrelated side note, I think my healthier eating is paying off. I am being constantly annoyed by having to pull up my jeans as they are trying to fall off of me. I need to find my belt, which is in the truck somewhere. It never ceases to amaze me how one can lose something in a truck, but trust me you can.

I recently (well a few months ago) sent Adrian a Zune. He previously had a cheapy that just did songs, but since I email him pics and video of me and the kids, this works well for him (and it is compatible with his 360).

Not to put a downer on you, but you must remain aware that you will gain weight when the non smoking kicks in and the body realises it. Before you know it you can balloon up and then find it difficult to lose it again.

Not necessarily. I didn't gain any weight when I quit smoking and am now about 27 lbs. under the weight I quit smoking at.

Mason, enjoy your new toy.

I looked at the Zune today but decided to go a bit cheaper. This RCA is nice and it does pics and video too although why anyone would want to watch a video on that little screen is beyond me.

Many people gain weight when they quit smoking because they substitute snacking for smoking.

He doesn't have a laptop (won't let me send him one; he says the sand would ruin it in a few months time), so that's about as good as it gets unless he's in his CHU.

check into the toughbooks. They're pricey, but more durable.

LOL, those are cool, but no way in hell we'd spend $3k on something he's only going to use for about 5 months.
