After the crappy day I had I just didn't feel like sitting in the truck. I decided that I wanted to take a nice walk. I googled the area and found a bar 1.5 miles from the truck stop. That would make a fine destination for my walk. Long enough to get a bit of exercise but not so long as to wear me out.
I memorized the map of the immediate area and set off walking. I walked a half mile East, made a left and walked a mile South, made another left, walked 60 feet, and found myself standing in front of the bar exactly where the map had indicated that it would be.
I went inside and had two cold ones. I then departed and retraced my route back to the truck. A 3 mile walk isn't exactly a major hike, but it was enough to work off some excess energy and the frustration of the day.
I didn't want to ride the bike. Well, ok, I did want to ride the bike but I haven't yet installed lights on it and I knew it would be dark coming back. No point in getting run over on my shiny new folding bike because someone couldn't see me in the dark. I'll install the lights and such while I am home next week.
Now that I've had a bit of exercise I'm ready to turn in for the night. Amazing how much good even a small work out can do. I have to get up early tomorrow so I can get rolling as soon as the sun rises. I have to make it down at least to Jacksonville tomorrow if I am going to deliver this now damaged fire truck on Friday afternoon.
Ah well, I can't dwell on it now. What's done is done.
