I had my visit with the witch doctor this morning and it went quite well. He's released me to return to work on Monday under the conditions that I don't tarp any loads or lift more than 50lbs for the next two weeks when I have to follow up with him again. I'll be very glad to get the hell out of this hotel and back on the road again.
He did tell me that I need to see someone about getting my right hip replaced as it obviously doesn't work or move the way it's supposed to do and is only going to continue to get worse. I already knew that, but hip replacements cost some serious cash.
The owner of the hotel was here when I returned from the doctor's office. He asked how I was getting along. I told him I would be checking out on Monday and also made a point of letting him know how much I appreciate the great staff he has working for him and how much they had made my recovery time easier and more comfortable. They really are a great bunch of ladies.
Over the weekend I'm going to do my laundry as I'm just about out of clean clothing, as well as try and clean up and organize the inside of my truck. Having been injured on the way back here and just grabbing out some stuff for my extended stay when I got here it's a real mess inside. I was embarrassed for the shop guys to see it that way but I simply couldn't have done a damn thing about it at the time. I guess they had complained to the boss about it, but according to him he just told them that "the guy was injured what do you expect?"
Still, it was embarrassing for me as I normally keep my truck clean and orderly (more or less).
Now that I have a definite return to work time I can actually enjoy my remaining time here relaxing. I no longer feel like I'm indefinitely trapped in some sort of hotel limbo.
