A bunch of useless crap

I have to say right off that I have never believed in ghosts or ghost stories. I've always figured they were just entertaining stories and never took them seriously. Until now.

I have been working at my laptop burning some Linux distro discs and copying some stuff to flash drives. Just basically giving me something to do to amuse myself. I bought a new HP external CD/DVD burner today and have been playing with it. As I was burning an ISO onto a disc and watching the progress I got that feeling you sometimes get when you feel like someone else is in the room with you. I know we've all had that feeling.

I looked around and of course didn't see anyone. I shook it off and continued with my work. I edited a bash script on my Linux system so that it would play an ogg file during shut down, tested it, and restarted the system. As the system came back up I heard a man say "That is very interesting". I about jumped out of my seat and turned around to see a man, probably in his early 30s standing right behind me. He was dressed in a very outdated suit and had mutton chops of all things.

Naturally I was freaked out and started to get up to slug the guy for being in my room (at that point it hadn't occurred to me that I never heard him come in) but of course my back problems prevented me from getting up quickly and I got a bad muscle spasm that sat me down again real quick. I got up again slowly but the guy was gone.

It was a really freaky thing and I still kinda have the willies over it. I'm still not sure I believe in ghosts, but this now has me really wondering WTF just happened. I guess you just had to be there. This was a really weird thing and I'm just not sure what the hell to think.

Wow, this sounds really freaky, mate. If it were me, I probably would have had to change my boxers, for sure. I wonder if there is any history of someone like you described living and/or passing away where you are.

There is another explanation: it could be the medication you're on at the moment causing hallucinations. I don't know what you're taking but is it possible?

I was wondering that as well.

Being a very rational person that has crossed my mind, but then I am only taking percocet and valium, neither one of which are hallucinogens. I really can't explain it but I'm sure there has to be a rational explanation. There has to be.

Possible I guess.

I had a very freaky experience where I was kind of sleep walking but talking to my then boyfriend. I ended up making a prediction that came true (not by saying "I predict..." but by getting impatient and telling him off about something that was impossible at that time but came true the next day (and it wasn't to go f*** himself ). The sleep walking ended when I ended up in the laundry room and someone touched me on the arm. I didn't see anyone and was alone in the room. I found out later that my boyfriend's dad had died in that room.

It wasn't really scary but I thought it was odd. He was Irish and freaked out the next day calling me all sorts of names when what I said came true.

Hmmm... I'm going to write this up in full on my blog.

Haven't really had anything so vivid happen since.

Only one problem MM. Gates is not dead.

Hey! Dont ask me about that stuff! I am still figuring out CRC checks on routers!

Maybe the only rational explanation is the mysterious one.

Maybe a microdream in a microsleep while programming a microcomputer? But, honestly, it would have freaked me out too!

That's quite an experience M! I just read Momijiki's article too!

Listen guys, the rational mind will tell you it's one thing or the other for logics sake, but take it for what it is...you did see a ghost! How cool is that?! [I've seen a few in my day, yeah, I know, I'm weird!]!

Hey.. with the drugs you're on.. along w/ the beer... who the heck knows? deal with it and go on.. if it was a ghost ...wlll at least he thought what you did was interesting!

Freaky! Wish I had an explanation, but I don't. I know there was a story about a ghost throwing plates and knives in my great-grandma's house... but I thought she was making stuff up. If this had happened to me, I wouldn't be sleeping tonight.

(walks off whistling theme from the twilight zone...doo doo doo doooo doo doo doo dooo...)

Actually I am pretty sure that between the drugs and beer I probably went into a light doze and simply dreamed it. I believe that ghost hunters show was playing on the Sci-fi channel at the time.

The whole thing is really just bullshit anyway. A waking dream of sorts if you will.

You lucked out Mason. Six brewskies and two valium could have given you Carmen Electra (chuckle)!

That would have definitely been an improvement.

Relax. Maybe you're just going insane.

(just a thought!)
